What I don't care for is when we let our emotions get out of control, & the topic becomes obscured/"skewered" by the saying/slinging of infantile things because someone let's their opin get rattled, & then a mod has to "separate the bickering kids on the playground" [you get a "Time-Out!" ;cp]; too-personal, AOT straight-out ideas...

- but when there's civil, healthy discussion on practical matters such as chart-related or grooves/music interp, philosophic, & the business of music, AWA heads up on certain other players, & sharing some mp3s & vid-clips, it's FANTASTIC, & we all win. [img]cool.gif[/img]

Ego, Testosterone, & diff'g pers opins have always been at the top of the list AFA the cause of practically every skirmish known to man...[land, water, & oil following close behind...but it's all inter-related [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img] ]

FYI, I have started a few Hass topics. So have other members excluding Para and Rob. What's the problem with talking about drummers? If someone else was doing his gigs, then we'd probably be talking about that someone else. It's an interest. When some new practically unkown player is doing as many sessions as Omar Hakim, doing as many profile jazz gigs as Bill Stewart, doing as many pop/rock gigs as Shawn Pelton, doing as many latin/jazz as Horacio. You're going to wanna know who, why, when, where and everything. Wouldn't you? Why is that problem in here? I'm confused.
Oh and I myself never had a problem with hearing the latest Vinnie news. That could only help.

Now..., regadless of the context, I guess you're trying to minimize your insult. But here's your problem as I have spent the time to analyze your posts on this board.

You have a BIG problem with insulting others that you'd never say such stuff to if you were face to face with in a room. You could have said something more like "I personally don't consider Vinnie to play Jazz or Be-Bop the way the greats did." Thats fine, and is EXACTLY what Steve was trying to point out to you. And IS the reason why MANY came back and slammed you for your post, and IS the reason why the thread got closed. You took HOD down to the kiddie drum forum level.

I think by now you understand that this IS one of the greatest drum boards on the net, otherwise you and your friends would have left by now. So like I've said to you and to your friends many times here already, KEEP IT DIPLOMATIC. You CAN have a discussion without getting HEATED and still get your point across. You'll get more respect here for that. Use your influence and great drummer HASS to understand this concept. Look at his 1st post here. VERY DIPLOMATIC!! And because he DOES work in the industry, I'd dare to say he would never say such a thing about anyone.

So... with that said. Let by gones be by gones.
